Laxmi has completed a five-year assignment based in Singapore as Director of Human Resources for the Asia-Pacific region for The McGraw-Hill Companies - a major US media / events / financial information and educational publishing corporation, which has its international head quarters in the UK. She was responsible for 11 growing businesses and 1,100 professional level staff, covering Singapore, Taiwan, China/Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Australia and India. Prior to this, she worked as the European HR manager providing support for 16 companies. She also has HR experience from Scandinavian Airlines, Timex Watches and Allied Lyons Group. She has considerable strategic and operational experience of most HR areas and is now seeking a challenging role, either full time or on an interim, consulting or project basis.

Joan has a wide range of experience of working in primary and secondary schools with very different numbers of minority pupils. She is able to offer challenge and support in a variety of contexts through the specialist areas listed. Her enthusiasm and subject knowledge and getting others to carry on the learning is shown through evaluations received. She has worked on the production of a Booklet "Complementing Teachers" with the Runnymede Trust. She has been invited to train Head teachers, senior managers, teachers, and Teaching assistants nationally as part of their Quality assurance for schools training. She has delivered a variety of in service training from short inputs to long courses. She has initiated a number of projects through work for the Cambridgeshire Race Equality and Diversity Service. She is a member of a number of relevant organisations and is often commissioned work through "word of mouth" informal networking. She is qualified to degree level with a teacher's certificate in education, RSA diploma in teaching English as a Second language and a RSA diploma in working with the gifted and talented pupils.

With full Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CMCIPD) Jane has over 15 years Human Resources experience in both the private and public sector. Jane's employment background is notably within Tesco, the Health Service, and the Police service. Her knowledge spans strategy, policies and resolution of complex employment and industrial relations matters.
As Personnel Manager for Suffolk Constabulary Jane led it to become the top performing service in the country, in Human Resource terms - meeting stiff recruitment challenges, and achieving in relation to BME recruitment and retention targets, sickness reduction and under representation matters. Jane has an extensive training portfolio, applying human resource policy and strategy in a practical and common sense manner. She is able to demystify the complexities of employment law for managers and supervisors.
Shammi Jalota, BSc
Shammi's community/race relations and broader diversity experience spans over 10 years. He has delivered training and consultancy to a variety of voluntary and statutory bodies across the UK. He has vast experience of local Government and the Criminal Justice System. Shammi has a breadth of knowledge of equal opportunity audits and analyses, policy-making advice, and practical support with strategic development. He is also a lay inspector for Her Majesty Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate. Shammi has spent over seven years working with BME groups and communities throughout the country, focusing on race and broader diversity issues. He has proven skills in the development of human and sustainable community resources. Central to all of his work is the notion of focusing on individual responsibility, and helping clients to look at their own attitudes to 'difference' rather than looking at the characteristics of different groups.
